If you have some great content then not only can it go viral on Twitter, but also loads of people will see it, greatly increasing your chances of some of them linking to it. Put it this way, when I try and create some viral link bait on my sites, I go straight to Twitter to let everyone know about it. This DOES work if your content is strong enough.
