Bad search - when search engines take things too literally ! That is, instead of checking the approximation of the spelling, it only harps on the one provided by the user, which may not be the right one.

Link color - not changing the color of a visited link doesn't provide the user with an indicator that he has already been there. Also, any link should be o f a different color than the text so as to stand out.


Low search engine visibility - Meta tags, page titles and keywords in contents are the parameters on which search engines base their ranking visibility. Care should be taken to use them properly.


Advertisements - Users have developed an automatic filtering of advertisements which serve as a hindrance to their navigation. Hence, any portion of the site design that even remotely resembles an advertisement shall be overlooked, even though it might contain important information.


Opening new windows - Care must be taken to give the user as clean a desktop as possible. Links opening more windows, especially page embedded ads, have a negative effect on user satisfaction.
