Federal Need Based College Grants
This is based on the need for assistance is much like the Pell Grant, significant change is that the College student takes part in the preserve authority in order to determine how much money will be distributed to the student. This is often a variety of household family income threshold which determines eligibility for the grant.

Academic competitiveness grant based on financial need; but a component of academic performance to it as well. Students who are eligible for Pell also may be eligible for the academic competitiveness grant. As with grant FSEOG, the University decided the amount of money allocated to student grants, but the calculation is based around student-performance.

Need based and merit-based. Need-based grants are those in which the student will need to meet financial shortfalls in private that they cannot manage to attend higher education due to lack of funds. Merit-based scholarships are those where the student is qualified based on performance of one or the other. Below is a list of concessions in the category need basis along with a brief description of each.
