Hosts with Privacy-Protected Domains
I've always wondered about web hosts
(or the like) who have WHOIS Protected domains. I'd understand this service is given to domain registrants and some website owners opt for it but for me, it's totally different when you are a web host or even a business owner than just being a website owner.

Not that I am being too suspicious about all providers who do that. But personally, I'd say this plays an important role in business credibility and most especially, transparency to your clients.

I find it quite frustrating, as a prospective client, when I'd like to lookup a web host's domain whois and realize it's kept private. I know for a fact I could still email them or get their info in other ways, but for a first impression, it cuts me off.

I don't know, maybe it is just me. Domain whois may not say a lot about the business on its own, but maybe to some (people like me), it still matters. Maybe I just don't quite understand what else would hosting companies keep secret when they are expected to be providing all support contact details in the first place?

I've seen quite a lot of them, so I was wondering what others would think of this.

Personally it doesn't bother me, it does make getting certain information a little more difficult sometimes. However i believe some people do it to keep certain information private
